Annotation:DGM3 combines theoretical and practical teaching and focuses on painting in a digital environment using a graphic tablet and software and applications simulating painting in different operating systems. Students create a print output based on a selected theme for printing on canvas and on a plotter. He/she can compare a digital print output with those of traditional procedures in painting and assess their limits and possibilities. Contemporary textile technique in creating image programmable jacquard weave looms goes hand in hand with technique of canvas printing. The student will gain practical experience with pre-press preparation, printing, and other possibilities of distribution of digital image in print and large-area outputs on the plotter. The aim is to adopt new technological procedures for the creation and use of digital image and its application in painting with an emphasis on photographic quality of reproductions. Computer image processing with an emphasis on use in artistic practice is proved on examples of contemporary artistic creation.
