Course description and objectives This course provides an in-depth examination of ethical issues in inclusive and special needs education. Students will explore theoretical frameworks, ethical dilemmas, and policy implications, fostering critical thinking about the moral responsibilities of educators in inclusive settings. The course will draw from key texts, including Ethics and Inclusive Education: Disability, Schooling and Justice (Inclusive Learning and Educational Equity) and The Ethics of Special Education. Course Objectives - The course aims to: 1. Introduce students to ethical principles in inclusive and special needs education. 2. Analyze key ethical debates in the field. 3. Develop ethical reasoning skills for real-world educational dilemmas. 4. Equip students with knowledge to advocate for inclusive educational policies. 5. Foster critical reflection on the role of educators in ethical decision-making.
