Job Description/Responsibilities
- Teaching biology didactics and related subjects (teaching methodology, learning assessment, laboratory and field didactics, use of ICT and e-learning, etc.).
- Preparation, innovation, and guarantee/co-guarantee of syllabi and study materials; leading seminars and exercises; development of teaching aids and digital resources.
- Supervising and reviewing final theses of students in teacher training programs; providing methodological support to students in research and teaching projects.
- Participation in final state examinations (member of the committee, supervising defenses, evaluating final theses).
- Teaching practice: participation in the organization, methodological guidance, and supervision of the course and results of teaching practice in cooperation with partner (training) schools.
- Research activities in the field of biology/pedagogical sciences, including publication in peer-reviewed journals, presentations at conferences, and participation in grant and application projects.
- Design, coordination, and teaching of continuing education/in-service training courses for biology/natural science teachers.
- Organizational and development activities of the workplace (admissions procedures, popularization of the field, cooperation with schools and professional partners).
Qualifications and other requirements
- University degree in biology / biology education / pedagogy; Ph.D. (or equivalent), or acceptance of a candidate who is demonstrably nearing completion of a Ph.D.
- Teaching experience (university and/or secondary school/primary school), experience in leading exercises/seminars and creating study materials.
- Publications in biology didactics/pedagogical or biological sciences; active participation in conferences.
- Experience with e-learning and digital tools.
- Organizational skills and ability to cooperate with schools (partner schools, student internships).
- Very high level of Czech language proficiency (min. C1/C2)
- International research profile specification: R2 – Recognized
- Active English min. B2 (reading literature, publishing and presentation activities).

The first round of the selection procedure will take place without the personal presence of the candidates by the assessment of the submitted materials by the selection committee.
The Dean of the Faculty reserves the right to invite only selected candidates to a personal meeting and also the right not to select any candidate. The selection procedure may be cancelled or repeated at the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty.
