The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for the position of:

  • Associate Professor or Assistant Professor in Musicology with a focus on music theory and analysis, performance analysis, or music performance practice

International Research Profile Classification:

  • R3

Expected Workload:

  • 0.5 FTE

Qualification and Other Requirements:

  • Appointment as Associate Professor, or a Ph.D. with the prospect of habilitation
  • Teaching experience in the field
  • English language proficiency at level B2
  • Czech language proficiency at minimum level B2

Expected Start Date:

  • September 2025, or as agreed

Salary Conditions:

  • According to the Internal Wage Regulations of the University of Ostrava

Selection Procedure:

The first round will be conducted without the personal presence of applicants, based on the evaluation of submitted materials by the selection committee.

The second round will consist of an interview with the selection committee.

The Dean reserves the right to invite only selected candidates for an interview and also the right not to select any candidate. The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Ostrava may also cancel or repeat the selection procedure.
