Assistant Professor in Oncology

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava, announces a selection procedure for the position of:

  • Assistant Professor in Oncology

Expected start date:

  • September 2025 or by agreement

Expected workload:

  • 10%

Requirements:

  • University degree in general medicine
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D., CSc., DrSc., Dr.) in a relevant field or related field
  • Teaching experience in the field is an advantage
  • Scientific research and publishing activity in the relevant or related field
  • Knowledge of Czech at level C2
  • Knowledge of English at level B2
  • EU research level: R2 – Recognized Researcher

Job description:

The assistant professor provides teaching in bachelor's and master's study programs, including supervision and reviewing of final theses, and contributes to their development. Upon approval by the faculty's scientific council, the assistant may also participate in doctoral study programs. The position involves active participation in creative work, including conducting complex research and development tasks, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, attending scientific conferences, and presenting research results. The assistant also engages in the university's third role, particularly through science popularization, administrative tasks, and participation in university self-governance.
