What is the Doctoral School UO?
The Doctoral School represents a variety of accredited courses aimed at supporting doctoral students across the University of Ostrava. The aim is to develop competences that will increase the attractiveness and employability of the graduate in practice, at research institutions and in the industry (publishing, language and pedagogical skills, good research design, data analysis, preparation and management of projects, communication and presentation skills, cooperation with commercial entities).
During the academic year, the Doctoral School offers standard courses concluded either by assigning credits or by final exam. Students will also have the opportunity to attend unique one-off workshops and lectures. Courses ending with course credit or exam are primarily labelled as electives and award credit upon completion. Events are designed to be interesting and beneficial to students in the social sciences, humanities, natural sciences and medicine.
