Job description

The assistant professor provides teaching in bachelor′s and master′s degree programs (including the supervision and opposition of final theses) and participates in the development of these programs. In the case of approval by the scientific council of the faculty, the assistant professor participates in the provision of doctoral study programs. He actively participates in creative activities (especially in the form of independent solutions of complex research and development tasks, active publishing activities in peer-reviewed journals, or other forms of publication outputs according to industry requirements and in accordance with creative standards at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava, active participation in scientific conferences and professional meetings, active presentation of the results of creative activity). Furthermore, the assistant professor participates in the third role of the university, especially in the form of popularization of creative activities, in the administration associated with the activities performed and in the self-government of the university.

Qualification requirements – required

  • A university degree in medicine, healthcare, or economics (with a focus on healthcare)
  • A doctoral degree in the specified field or a related field
  • Active publishing in the field
  • Teaching experience in the field is a plus
  • Professional experience is an advantage;
  • Personal and professional qualifications for independent teaching and scientific research activities; publishing activities and professional development;
  • Potential for further scientific research and creative activities;
  • Knowledge of Italian: C1–C2;
  • Knowledge of English is an advantage

  • R2 – Recognized

The expected form of employment

  • 30 – 100 %

The expected start date

  • 1 June 2026, or by agreement

Wage conditions

  • The salary is determined by the candidate′s classification according to the University′s internal salary regulations and also depends on the candidate′s experience and their involvement in research grant activities.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava, reserves the right to invite only selected candidates for a personal interview and also the right not to select any candidate. The selection procedure may be cancelled or re-announced.
