Let’s Celebrate the 30th Birthday of the University of Ostrava!

The 30th birthday and a start of a new semester. These are two good reasons for the UO to have a party. Mark to your calendars that on 30th September Kapitán Demo, Jiří Krhut & Štěpán Kozub, slam poetry, table football and much more will be waiting for you in the premises of the Faculty of Medicine in Ostrava-Vítkovice.

This event offers an awesome musical programme from which everyone can choose. In the evening, Radim Nowak and DJ Michal Pesina will do the show. Not only the lovers of new approaches of poetry will be amazed by the slam poetry led by last year’s master of the Czech Republic, Ondřej Hrabal.

If you want to relax from music and concerts, the town of students’ organizations will be ready for you. With a drink in your hand, you can get an overview of the activities you may to join in addition to your study at the University of Ostrava. Then you can enjoy the prepared hookah or take part in a table football tournament. There will be lots of activities! Do not forget to visit the UO Shop as well, where you can buy nice socks, T-shirts, nicknacks, canvas bags and many other things with the UO logo! There will be also food trucks full of good meals and traditional students’ beer IQač. Of course, prices will be favorable and the entry to this event is FOR FREE!

Come and join us on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 13:00 in the premises of the Faculty of Medicine. You have not been there yet? Do not worry at all, it is just one more reason to come and see a new unique place with modern university buildings close to a forest park. The best way to come is by bus no. 57 to “Lékařská fakulta” bus stop or by tram from tram stops “Hulvácká” or “Stará ocelárna”. From the city centre, it takes 10 minutes by tram no. 2. If you go from Poruba, take tram no. 7 or 17 and you will get there in 15 minutes, so do not worry, no matter where you travel from, it does not take long to get there.
