The Rector of the University of Ostrava is issuing a selection procedure to fill the position for Centre of excellence IT4Innovations (CE IT4I) – Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzy Modeling (IRAFM)

  • Independent researcher II „REFRESH – Research Excellence For Region Sustainability and High-tech Industries, reg. number: CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000048“, in the case of a suitable applicant profile, can also be extended by a corresponding academic position at the above-mentioned workplace.

Job description:

  • Conducts independent research within the SL5 Knowledge and data processing unit in accordance with the needs of other members of the research team and partner workplaces;
  • active participation in basic and oriented research, especially in joint interdisciplinary research with the fields of social sciences and humanities or in the field of IT (industry 4.0, autonomous driving, defectoscopy, pattern recognition);
  • contributes to outputs in the form of analyses, source codes or scientific publications.

Starting work:

  • July 2024, eventually based on an agreement. The contract with time limited validity 1-3 years and with the potential prolongation.

Systemized position:

  • Researcher IV (non-academic)

Assumptions:

  • Habilitation in mathematics/computer science or a related field;
  • Minimal research level: R3 (Established) / R4 (Leading reasearcher);
  • Field expertise: mathematics/computer science with the focus on data processing, e.g., data analysis, machine learning etc.;
  • Active knowledge of English (B2).
