Annotation:Course objectives: Course description: This course is part of the complex of the subjects of clinical nursing. It is conceived as a theoretical-practical unit. It informs students about the development, health care, health status and diseases in childhood. The emphasis is put on the differences of individual needs of children and the way they are satisfied, including differences in multidisciplinary care in primary, secondary and tertiary health care. Objectives: To become familiar with differences in the care for individual needs of the child according to age. To understand the differences in health care of the child in the primary care system. To understand the differences of the care and treatment of the ill child in the secondary care system. To understand the differences of the care and treatment of the chronically ill, dying and disabled child in the tertiary care system. To learn the basics of the evaluation (assessment) of the current health status of the child. To become familiar with the standard diagnostic procedures and tests in different clinical conditions and the standard treatment and doctors' recommendations. To learn nursing care of the child in health and disease using the nursing process, and goal-directed education.
