Annotation:Quality nursing care is unthinkable without effective communication between a nurse and a patient and a nurse and other health workers. The subject is designed as theoretical and practical and focuses not only on mastery of basic theoretical knowledge in social communication, but especially on improving professional communication, which requires special skills that health workers have to learn during their professional training. The aim of this course is to acquaint students with basic concepts, and kinds of social communication, to teach them the basics of effective verbal and nonverbal communication, and communication by actions, to increase their empathy and ability to listen and to manage adequate ways of communication with patients, their family members and other healthcare professionals. Lectures are also designed to manage communication in specific difficult life situations.
