Annotation:The course equipps students with comprehensive knowledge as to commence their practice in opera environment, and also serves as an essential supporting and preparatory subject of the Opera study. It aims at developing musical expression and comprehensive interpretative skills as learned in subjects of music theory and history. The course contains repertoire study with piano accompaniment. Under the tutor´s supervision, the students broaden and refine their stylistic and interpretation views. Students auditory dipositions, vocal intonation and singing techniques are being enhanced, alongside with their abilities to get their composition into final interpretation stage. The course introduces broad range of world´s best singing and opera solo/ensemble repertoire. These will become student´s portfolio of interpretative live experience. Practical sessions lead students to be able to spot mistakes, take notice of them and actively search for solutions. Students gradually grow their independence and autonomy, self-confidence, ability to achieve his/her targets, discipline, ability to plan and structure working duties and display hightened competence in critical self-reflection of their own performances. Opera studio repertoire forms also basic repertoire programme of this course. The first study year sees development in student´s abilities to work with Czech and Italian texts, of their fonetic aspects and specifics. Carefully selected singing literature serve as a tool for application of repertoire study methods (text and its meaning, pronounciation, rhythm, melodic components, phrasing, musical articulation, aspects of expressive interpretation). Song intepretation focus on purity and natural simplicity of its expressive and vocal renditions.
