Annotation:The term is to thoroughly cover the discipline of the art of performance, its definitions from wider "performance art" (including film, theatre, and dance, happening, performance, etc.) to narrowing it down to current definitions of performance as such. Against the background of knowledge of history, we will be looking for its features even in unexpected places, from prehistoric times to the present, and set out on search for the student's own definitions and individual approach to action art. The aim is to get acquainted with available texts on performance issues, profiles of selected action artists, performance festivals. Insight into more detailed study of the archive of the Malamut Festival of Action Art and the pedagogue archive from its own and other events at festivals in Europe, usa and Asia is also on the cover list. An alternative can be found in current ample international literature and categorization of performance in various publications and internet servers, including samples on the Youtube platform. We can thus follow the gradual development of students´ very own opinion about the action art and thinking through their own program, idea part included. Actively participating students in practical workshops that are led by their peers and guest performers, and by creating their own action projects on campus and in the public space, will co-create and develop their own experience with this discipline and will be aware of their own abilities and limits in this field. The student should learn to draw up his/her own event plan, defend and plan step-by-step procedure. Improvisation and direct rapport with the audience and entanglement of potentially indifferent spectator or other collaborators are sought-after asset. The student will learn to document performances, take, and edit event video recordings, eventually create sheer video performance, etc.
