Annotation:The summer term of the second year is the final fourth term of the foundation drawing program (or third one in case of extracurricular internship). This term concludes the compulsory learning of figural and imaging drawings. In the second, thematically focused and experimentally oriented part of the student's work, emphasis is placed on the synthesis of knowledge from newly explored areas and the search for ways of their proper use in the spirit of the nascent own author intent. An important work´s aspect is the confrontation of different individual approaches within the studio and faculty. This is stirred by participation in student exhibition projects organized by the studio and consulted participation in activities organized by extracurricular entities and institutions. Knowledge and skills´ development in the expert area is provided by participation in occasional workshops, be it extracurricular or organized by the studio, dedicated, for example, to lighting design, illustration, installation, photography, basics of curatorship and expert areas. Basics of technologies used in the preparation of drawing and painting materials, frame canvases, adjustment, methods of documentation and preservation of works and other related areas form a part of the theoretical and practical preparation. The second term of the second year culminates an extensive search for direction of work that aims at broadening of student's awareness of the range of possibilities and provides first important insights into his/her creative personality. Deeper and systematic lectures in theory applied on studio work illustrate on practical examples the overview of trends shaping the form of fine art in the second half of the twentieth century up to the present times. The student updates continuously and systematically his/her portfolio, which allows a clear recapitulation of the work done in various areas. By repeatedly discussing and gradually trying to interpret his/her own development, the student is encouraged to make increasingly conscious, independent, and competent decisions about the next direction of his or her endeavor and is led to realistic feeling of his/her range of possibilities in the context of contemporary art scene. A short text reflection of the chosen artwork is a part of the work in the studio.
