Annotation:The goal of the course is to provide a detailed understanding of the main population, quantitative and evolutionary genetics concepts that can be used for conservation of plant diversity with different aims -from conservation of endangered, endemic species, through restoration of degraded habitats, to the preservation of agrobiodiversity and agro-ecosystemservices. A particular focus will be given to the inclusion of genetic biodiversity in all conservation and agricultural actions, which is still largely neglected by conservation and farm managers. The course will be structured in two parts: a flipped classroom (8-9 weeks)that is suitable for interactive and distance learning, with study material prepared for the purpose of the class (video, exercises, further reading materials) available online, followedby visitsof conservation facilities in the Moravskoslezski and Olomoucki region over a two days trip (Agritec, Sumperk; Oseva PRO ltd, Zubri; CRI, Olomouc; UPOL botanical garden, Olomouc).
