AnotationThe project builds on the preceding research of the team within SGS 2017 and elaborates on the topic of local, translocal and global features of internationalized communication online as well as offline. The research project proposed aims to identify the translocal qualities of the genres and communication environments analysed and explore the ways they translate into communication strategies, cognitive structure and the choice and combination of lexico-grammatical means. The corpora analysed include university student and science/research blogs, online MOOC courses and tutorials, interactive TripAdvisor websites, theatre websites, political parties' websites as well as transcripts of spoken ELF discussions and SciELF corpus). The analyses of the varied corpora are related by compatible methodological framework, which will secure the research will result in valid information on specific features of internationalized communication, i.e. communication between participants from different cultures, and on the role played by local elements, or possibly on the absence of local elements facilitating a smooth conveyance of a message.
